It is that time of year again, and after being apart for Christmas in 2022, we are finally back to our routine and traditions this holiday season. Personalized ornaments. Advent calendars. Christmas cards. We were absolutely not planning to take this holiday season lying down… unless it was for family pictures. So from our family to yours, Merry Christmas!
Although the girls are spending Christmas break with their mother in Kenya, after Thanksgiving we got right to work on our usual family traditions. The girls chose their Advent calendars and started picking at them day by day. Through purchasing and receiving them as gifts, we added about six new unique ornaments to our Christmas tree this year (and the girls’ great-grandmother got to see us go through our tree-decorating routine). And a family friend took photos this year for our annual Christmas card. Although it has not been a perfect holiday season (sibling rivalry is still in full swing), it was great to spend it again with my girls and get back to the Calkins family traditions.
